ideas i'd work on
nothing makes me more excited than an idea to work on that I think could (and/or):
- help people
- scratch a curious itch
- help me learn something new
- share something interesting
finals are done, i've secured an intern offer, and i'm staying at my parents' house--all i've been doing past couple days is eat, sleep, and do "work" only when I want (in these cases, I end up working more and more effectively than in any other case). whenever I'm in these spaces (free of pressing commitments), i become more optimistic about the future and thus can approach ideas/projects to work on with more play. in turn, i'm a happier person.
anyways, here is a random sample of ideas (general) that i'd like to work on, but haven't gotten to yet:
(youtube) videos
- "using AI to finish my unfinished projects"
- "for my future self" -> video essay on legacy, memory, and moments
- "0 to 1" -> journey of making a company from scratch
- "retrofitting paddleshifters on my g20" -> I really want to retrofit paddle shifters on my car
markets
- quant tools (research, algo trading, etc.) but for prediction markets
- prediction market aggregator platform, interface like a brokerage, with specific markets as exchanges (ie. Kalshi -> NYSE)
- chart library
- prediction market (for internal/company use) as a service
- tokenization of (private) equity
hardware
- vision-based (camera + lidar) natural-language commandable, tool-switchable robot arm/cobot for owner-operated factories in asia ("torque those five nuts on that block to 10 Nm")
business
- AI agentic marketer for medium-size restaurant/cafe chains
personal
- an everything platform that integrates all your digital presence; your digital twin source of truth
weekend hacks
- "spy.bet" -> bet whether spy ends green or red in the day
- "jaewuchun.sh" -> terminal-friendly personal website (ssh in the terminal)
- typeracer but for learning vim motions
- "review ranker" -> rates youtube video on signal/noise ratio of its content
- component library but with mobile/PWA focus
- "conciseness trainer" -> need to re-write given sentences more concisely; there are wrong answers
